Did you know that Women’s History Month began as a week-long celebration in California in 1978? Today, March signifies the observance and celebration of the accomplishments of women in history. It presents the time to not only reflect but to uplift women from all cultures and backgrounds who are making positive contributions to society.
Here at PHL, we celebrate this by highlighting the books written by women authors in various bookstores across the airport. We even have a retail location solely dedicated to honoring the courageous women who fought for the 19th Amendment, women’s right to vote. 1920 Merch Co, the first airport store of its kind, located between Terminals B and C, offers a collection of books, apparel, accessories, and gifts celebrating the achievements of women throughout history.
