As of May 1, 2004, smoking anywhere within the terminal building complex is strictly prohibited. Be advised that once you pass through the security checkpoint, there are no designated smoking areas in the airport terminal concourse, gate areas, bars, or restaurants. In order to smoke, you must exit the building to the departing flights roadway sidewalk or the arriving flights roadway sidewalk.

You can proceed to the PHL Job Portal website here which lists all of the positions currently available at the PHL Food & Shops and PHL airport. If you are interested in working for a specific airline, you need to contact them directly.

The Employee Wage and Benefit Fee approved by the Department of Aviation (DOA) in March 2024 allows concessions operators at PHL to charge a fee of up to 3% of the transaction to offset the employee wages and benefits requirements. This is not a gratuity paid directly to staff.

There is no sales tax on clothing in Pennsylvania, so you can splurge a little!
Many stores throughout the airport offer shipping so you don’t have to worry about carrying extra items onto the plane. In various locations throughout the airport, there are FedEx drop boxes as well.
Duty-Free in Terminal A-East is open from 7:00 a.m. – 9 p.m. with varying midday closures dependent upon daily international flight departures. The Duty-Free locations in A-West are open from 7:00 a.m. – 10 p.m. with varying midday closures dependent upon daily international flight departures.

If you have left an item at a location within the PHL Food & Shops program, please fill out a customer service inquiry here, and we will contact you as soon as possible. If the item has been left elsewhere in the airport, please contact the airport’s Lost and Found Center at 215-937-6888.
